Free to watch. Themes are the tip jar.
Everything that matters is free: your library, the guide, every channel feature, four classic cabinets, Quick looks and Create a TV. Optional themes are one-time purchases that support development.
What is included
- Playback from Plex, Jellyfin or Emby, the guide, channel surfing, Discover, dayparts, marathons, the parental PIN and your own commercials.
- Charcoal, Woodgrain, Silver and Arcade Room cabinets, the six Quick looks that use them, and the free TV creator.
- No SurfRewind account or subscription. No payment details.
Windows
Settings → Looks → Theme store, or store.surfrewind.com. Sign in with an email and a one-time code (no newsletter). Themes are US $0.99 each or US $2.99 for a five-theme collection, paid once through Stripe in your browser. Return to the app and your purchases appear; Restore purchases brings them to another Windows PC with the same email.
Google TV, Android TV and Fire TV
On television the theme store opens as a “Coming soon” catalog until packs go on sale through Google Play or the Amazon Appstore. When they do, they are sold only through the store’s own in-app purchasing, and Restore purchases uses the same store account. Store purchases do not transfer between Google, Amazon and Windows.
Backgrounds
A theme’s background works with any cabinet you own. Paid looks carry a renewable offline licence on Windows; reconnect now and then to refresh it. Free viewing never needs a sign-in.
