Jellyfin: your server, your rules.
Jellyfin support is in beta. It works the same way on TV and on Windows.
Connect
- Open SurfRewind and choose Jellyfin.
- Enter the server address — for example
http://192.168.1.20:8096at home, or anhttps://address if you reach the server from outside. - Enter your Jellyfin username and password. SurfRewind keeps the access token on the device, encrypted; it never leaves the device except to talk to your server.
- Pick libraries, then Start my channels.
What works
- Movies and shows, with season/episode order, years, genres, ratings and durations.
- Collections (BoxSets) are not indexed yet, so collection channels and film-plus-sequel runs need Plex for now.
- Direct play when the TV can handle the file; otherwise Jellyfin transcodes. HEVC/4K/HDR are not certified.
Try it without your own server
Jellyfin runs a public demo server. Address https://demo.jellyfin.org/stable, user demo, no password. It is slow and shared, but it is enough to see the guide working before you point SurfRewind at your own library.
